Projects

SEVA - Current Projects:

• Native Habitat Restoration: Maintaining the integrity of our land against the constant threat of aggressive and invasive plants and animals is a never-ending task. Everyone here, whether a resident or visitor, can assist with this task just by being aware of their surroundings and reporting the presence of such aliens.
• Constructing Raised Bed Gardens: As a teaching farm, Skylight Ranch hopes to encourage everyone living in cities and suburbs to consider how they can help our challenged critters begin to thrive. Done properly, raised bed gardening is an easy first step toward anyone doing so. Help us maintain and expand our own production of flowers, vegetables, and herbs.
• Building a Potting Shed: Creating a convenient work space to facilitate our raised-bed garden project.
• Animal Husbandry: Feed one of our zebu or give it some water. Spread some scratch out in the chicken coop — better yet, feed them one of those green caterpillars eating the fresh lettuce plants!
• Erecting a Gazebo: We are planning a beautiful structure where outdoor weddings can be held and celebrated.
